Photography portfolio - Landscapes

Years ago I came up with an Axiom about photography: To take pretty pictures, be someplace pretty and have a camera.

Reductive? Extremely, but still rings true.

The truth is that amazing pictures aren’t going to be just outside your door, you have to look for them. The other truth in this axiom is that when you see an opportunity, you have to know it and be prepared to jump on it.

A camera is just a limited resolution time machine, capturing a tiny slice a much richer moment that will only exist at one place and at one time. The photographer’s job is to translate that moment into a particular medium that can tell as much of the story as possible to those who couldn’t be there to experience it and to bring the viewer into that moment.
